Reboot Retrocade and Bar

Reboot Retrocade and Bar opened its doors in Macon, Georgia, on December 2, 2016, establishing itself as a distinctive entertainment venue at 566 Cherry Street. The establishment combines a bar with a wide array of classic arcade and pinball machines, drawing from the 1970s through the mid-1990s. In addition to coin-operated games such as Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and Area 51, Reboot offers retro console games, an extensive collection of board games, and an 800-square-foot indoor lawn for yard games like cornhole and giant Jenga. The venue also features a full-service bar serving craft beers and “nerdy” themed cocktails, alongside retro snacks.

Founded by Jeremy Smith and Whitney Boyer to address a perceived entertainment gap in downtown Macon, Reboot Retrocade and Bar quickly became a community hub. It hosts regular events including video game tournaments, karaoke nights, and themed trivia. The space functions as a blended environment, doubling as an art gallery for local artists, and is accessible to families with children until 6 p.m., after which it transitions to an 18-and-over establishment. Reboot contributes to the ongoing revitalization of downtown Macon by offering a unique social and recreational experience that appeals to both nostalgic adults and new generations of gamers.
