Strike & Spare: 3710 Annex Ave

Operating in Nashville, Tennessee, Hillwood Strike & Spare opened its doors in 2003 at 3710 Annex Avenue, becoming a prominent family entertainment destination in West Nashville. Housed in a sizable 85,000-square-foot facility, the venue offered a diverse array of attractions, including 42 bowling lanes, two arcades, bumper cars, roller skating, a toddler zone, laser tag, air hockey, and pool tables. Notably, it also featured one of the country’s last commercially operated Rock-afire Explosion animatronic mini-stages, a band popularized by ShowBiz Pizza, which resonated with a nostalgic audience.

For over a decade, Hillwood Strike & Spare served as a vital community hub, hosting bowling leagues and providing a broad range of recreational activities for families and youth. The venue officially closed in September 2014, with its final day of operation on November 8, 2014. This closure was a result of the business being unable to meet rising property costs in the area.
