Camel City BBQ Factory, located at 701 North Liberty Street in Winston-Salem, NC, opened its doors in late June 2015, introducing a hybrid dining and entertainment experience to the downtown area. Housed within a renovated 1927 stucco warehouse, the venue’s name honors Winston-Salem’s rich manufacturing history. The restaurant, owned by Steve Doumas, whose family has a long history in the local culinary scene, was conceived with a “eat, drink and play” concept, aiming to offer distinct experiences across its two levels.
Camel City BBQ Factory distinguishes itself by combining its menu of Southern barbecue with an extensive arcade on the top floor, featuring classic video games such as Donkey Kong, Asteroids, Pac-Man, and Centipede, alongside pinball machines and other attractions like darts, pool, air hockey, skeeball, giant Jenga, and Connect 4. Each booth also provides game systems for patrons. The establishment serves as a dynamic hub for locals and visitors, providing a vibrant atmosphere for social gatherings, family outings, and a casual setting to unwind, contributing to the downtown Winston-Salem entertainment district.
