Rec Room Bar and Arcade

Operating in Southern Pines, North Carolina, Rec Room Bar and Arcade opened its doors on February 5, 2023, establishing itself as the community’s first bar-arcade. Located at 750 SW Broad Street in a building that previously housed a Bo’s Food Store and A&P grocery store, the venue preserves elements of the original centennial-style architecture. The concept was developed by owners Elena Avila, Heather Dyer, and Ezra Dyer, aiming to create a versatile entertainment space.

Rec Room offers a hybrid recreational experience, featuring dozens of retro and modern arcade games, a wall of pinball machines including titles like *Pac-Man*, *Jurassic Park*, *The Mandalorian*, and *Jaws*, as well as Skee-Ball, Pop-A-Shot, air hockey, and pool tables. An outdoor patio known as “the backyard” includes giant Jenga and a putting green. The venue serves as a dog-friendly and family-friendly environment during the day, transitioning to an adults-only atmosphere after 8 p.m. or 10 p.m., and hosts various community-focused events such as pinball tournaments, trivia nights, DIY workshops, Puppy Yoga, and DJ parties. It functions as a dedicated recreational hub for locals, fostering connection through games, food, and drinks in a relaxed setting.
