Mile Wide Beer Company

Mile Wide Beer Company, located at 636 Barret Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky, opened its doors in December 2016, establishing itself as a prominent fixture in the local craft beer scene. The brewery occupies a historic building that once housed a Pillsbury biscuit factory and, notably, Louisville’s first modern-era brewpub, The Silo, which opened in 1992. Founded by friends Matt Landon, Patrick Smith, Scott Shreffler, and Kyle Tavares, the company’s name is a tribute to the widest expanse of the Ohio River. Mile Wide is recognized for its handcrafted and diverse selection of beers, including pioneering hazy IPAs with the 2017 release of Tessie.

The venue serves as a community hub, offering a welcoming taproom atmosphere with various amenities for patrons of all ages. Visitors can enjoy a selection of games, including dartboards, ring toss, board games, and classic arcade and pinball machines in “Noah’s Arcade”. The brewery also hosts weekly trivia nights, further engaging the local community. In July 2019, Mile Wide Beer Company partnered with Mac’s, an authentic Italian brick oven pizzeria, providing Neapolitan-style pizzas and other food options within the taproom. The location is family-friendly, and its outdoor spaces accommodate pets.
