Escape Today, an entertainment venue in Owensboro, Kentucky, began its operations on October 31, 2016, founded by David Haynes and Max Garvin. Initially located on Emory Drive, the business expanded and relocated to its current downtown address at 820 West 2nd Street in waves starting around August 2019, occupying a space previously home to Hutch’s Billiards. This move positioned Escape Today within a developing downtown corridor, allowing for increased space and the subsequent integration of a variety of attractions.
The venue offers a diverse array of entertainment options, including multiple escape rooms with themes such as “Nuclear Blackout” and “Killer In the Pines: The Cabin Tapes,” axe throwing lanes, and a retro arcade featuring over 50 free-to-play machines with classic games like Pac-Man and Galaga. Demonstrating a commitment to evolving its offerings, Escape Today underwent a significant relaunch around July 2025, introducing new amenities such as a karaoke room, golf simulator, dart machines, and pool tables, alongside weekend alcohol service in collaboration with a neighboring business. Recognized as a substantial entertainment destination in Kentucky, Escape Today actively engages with the Owensboro community, aiming to provide varied recreational experiences and contribute to local tourism and the social landscape of the downtown area.
