Hijinx, located in Jonesboro, Arkansas, has served as a prominent family entertainment center for decades, evolving from its origins as Shelby Lanes in 1976. Initially offering 24 bowling lanes and a snack bar, the facility was purchased and renamed Jonesboro Bowling Center in 1987, later expanding its lanes and game room in 1997. The venue began a significant transition into a hybrid family entertainment center in 2013 with the addition of Lasertron. On April 1, 2016, it officially became Hijinx – Game Night Reinvented, introducing a ropes course, a large playground, and over 50 additional arcade games.
Today, operating as Hijinx: The Funtivity Spot since its rebranding in 2023, the establishment features 32 bowling lanes, a multi-level laser tag arena, a 70+ game arcade with a redemption center, a ropes course, a rock wall added in 2021, and soft-contained play areas for younger children. Hijinx also includes billiards tables and an on-site restaurant, JT’s Grill, with plans for future expansion to include go-karts and mini-golf. This diverse range of activities positions Hijinx as a central recreational hub for the Northeast Arkansas community, catering to various age groups and hosting events such as birthday parties and corporate gatherings.
