Boss Battle Games began its journey in November 2015, opening its doors in Indianapolis’s Washington Square Mall as a retro arcade and gaming center founded by Dustin and Phylicia Burd. After several years, the establishment relocated to the Castleton Square Mall, reopening on February 1, 2019, into an expanded 5,000-square-foot space. Operating on an unlimited-play day admission model, the venue distinguishes itself by offering a diverse array of over 100 arcade games, including classic and modern titles, alongside pinball machines and dedicated console gaming stations featuring systems from the Sega Genesis to the PlayStation 5.
Boss Battle Games serves as a significant recreational hub for the Indianapolis community, providing an accessible gaming experience with a single admission fee rather than tokens or quarters. It hosts various gaming events, including weekly Super Smash Brothers tournaments and fighting game competitions, fostering a vibrant local gaming community. The venue is recognized for its clean and welcoming atmosphere and has been voted Indy’s Best Arcade for two consecutive years, appealing to both nostalgic adult gamers and younger enthusiasts alike.
