Heart State Brewing, located at 750 Cross Pointe Road in Columbus (Gahanna), Ohio, began its journey as a production facility in late 2020. Initially focusing on packaged and keg sales, the brewery quickly expanded its distribution across Columbus, Dayton, and Cincinnati. In February 2023, the taproom at this address underwent renovations and officially reopened, featuring an expanded entertainment area. This space offers a variety of attractions, including a half dozen pinball machines, with plans to increase to twenty, a pool table, dart boards, and vintage arcade games, notably a 1981 Ms. Pac-Man machine. The venue also hosts weekly pinball leagues and music trivia, serving as a recreational hub for the local community.
In February 2024, Homestead Beer Co. acquired Heart State Brewing, integrating their brewing operations into the 750 Cross Pointe Road facility. While Heart State Brewing’s original head brewer relocated, Homestead Beer Co. continues to produce and serve both its own beers and Heart State’s distinctive brews, preserving the legacy of the Heart State brand within the vibrant Columbus craft beer scene. This location continues to operate, offering a combined experience of craft beer and arcade entertainment.
