Operating in Evansville, Indiana, from March 2016 to November 2024, Secret Headquarters provided a unique blend of retro entertainment and pop culture merchandise. The venue officially opened on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2016, offering an “all you can play” arcade experience with classic stand-up games such as Gorf, Ms. Pac-Man, and Area 51. Beyond the arcade, it featured a video game café where patrons could play a variety of titles on vintage 80s and 90s consoles like Sega, Nintendo, and Super Nintendo.
Founded by Jeff Osborne, Secret Headquarters also served as a retail destination for comic books, Pop! vinyls, vintage superhero toys, retro Transformers, and other collectible merchandise, tapping into a sense of nostalgia for many in the community. The establishment aimed to be a recreational hub for both youth and adults, often hosting birthday parties and fostering a space for shared interest in gaming and comics. After eight years, the brick-and-mortar location at 4225 N. 1st Avenue is slated to close on November 10, 2024, with plans to transition to an online presence and continue operations through digital sales and events.
