Black Circle Brewing

Black Circle Brewing, located in Indianapolis, Indiana, at 2201 E 46th St, first opened its doors in 2016, with its inaugural live show taking place in October of that year. Situated in the renovated Double 8 warehouse, now known as Refinery 46, the venue has developed into a dynamic hub for diverse entertainment. While primarily recognized as a live music venue hosting genres such as heavy metal, punk, and indie, Black Circle Brewing also features drag and comedy shows, alongside pinball games available in the adjacent Beacon dining area.

The establishment’s history traces back to founder Jesse Rice’s experience with house shows and homebrewing, evolving into a dedicated space for craft beverages and performances. The name itself, “Black Circle,” draws inspiration from vinyl records. In 2019, Black Circle Brewing expanded its operations with Loom, a sister location a few blocks away that serves as its brewing facility, a laundromat, and a pinball parlor. Black Circle is valued by the local community as an inclusive space that supports a broad spectrum of arts and entertainment, offering a welcoming environment for various patrons and actively participating in neighborhood initiatives like cleanups. The venue continues to host a variety of events, including an annual “Dead Formats” convention celebrating vintage media.
