Carolina Home & Garden, situated in Newport, North Carolina, began its journey as a garden center in 1996, founded by Brian and Stephanie Watson. Over nearly three decades, this family-owned establishment evolved significantly, broadening its offerings to become a multifaceted recreational and event destination. In 2015, their daughter, Logan, introduced a boutique, and by 2016, live music and a bar scene were incorporated into the gardens. The venue further expanded its role in 2018, transforming into an event space that hosts weddings and various gatherings, particularly after rebuilding its greenhouse into “The Sunroom” following Hurricane Florence in 2018.
Today, Carolina Home & Garden functions as a vibrant community hub, offering a diverse range of attractions. Visitors can engage with vintage arcade games, a pool table, and a wide selection of board games. The property also features Grace Adventure Park, providing outdoor exploration with treehouses, animal interactions, craft activities, and gem mining. Complementing these activities are a coffee shop and bar, rotating food trucks, the family’s “Garden of Eatin'” food truck, and a consistent schedule of live music, trivia nights, and other community events. The original garden center continues to operate, offering plants, pottery, and landscaping supplies, while picturesque elements like a koi pond add to the inviting atmosphere.
