Valley West Mall opened in 1975 and by the late ’90s welcomed a Cyberstation arcade near the Von Maur wing. Locals recall token specials during Drake Relays weekends and late-night DDR showdowns visible from the upper-level railings.
The unit closed around 2015 amid shifting tenant mixes, but Des Moines weblogs still post nostalgic snapshots of its narrow black-tile entrance.
