Donelson Bowl

Donelson Bowl, located at 117 Donelson Pike in Nashville, Tennessee, operated as a cherished community recreational hub from its opening in December 1959 until its closure in May 2023. As Nashville’s oldest bowling alley, it provided 24 lanes of bowling, featuring amenities such as computerized scoring and bumpers for children. The venue also included a snack bar offering classic fare and a modest arcade, contributing to its reputation as a low-key, family-friendly destination for entertainment.

For over 63 years, Donelson Bowl was owned by The Crescent Bowling Company, a company with a long history of operating bowling alleys in Nashville since 1942. It held a significant place in the heart of the Donelson neighborhood, recognized as a true Nashville institution that fostered family fun and community gatherings. Following its permanent closure, the site was slated for redevelopment into an apartment complex, though its iconic vintage sign was preserved.
