Flip Side, located at 1349 Autumn Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee, opened its doors in March 2022, offering the local community a distinctive blend of dining and pinball entertainment. The venue, initially established by Tandem Restaurant Partners with Michael Muhlert and pinball aficionado David Yopp, quickly became known for its Latin-inspired menu crafted by Executive Chef Jordan Beatty and its robust selection of pinball machines. Featuring a rotating collection of 16 to 17 pinball machines from Yopp’s personal inventory—ranging from vintage models of the 1970s to modern releases—alongside dart boards, Super Chexx Bubble Hockey, and a pool table, Flip Side cultivated a dedicated space for both casual players and serious enthusiasts. Weekly pinball tournaments and monthly IFPA-sanctioned events, often viewable on innovative “gallery monitors” above each machine, underscored its significance as a hub for the competitive pinball scene in Memphis.
In late 2025, Flip Side temporarily closed for ownership restructuring and extensive renovations, with anticipation of reopening by early to mid-2026. The planned revitalization included a new comfort food menu, the addition of 24 new pinball machines, and updated interior furnishings. As of April 2026, original owner Michael Muhlert partnered with David and Julie Yopp to lead the venue’s return, maintaining its role as a key recreational and social destination within the Memphis community.
