Funtown Pier was an amusement destination located on the boardwalk in Seaside Park, New Jersey, operating from 1957 until its destruction in 2013. Originally known as Funtown U.S.A., it offered a variety of rides and attractions for visitors, including roller coasters, a Ferris wheel, and a prominent 225-foot-tall Tower of Fear. The pier sustained significant damage from Superstorm Sandy in October 2012. A devastating boardwalk fire on September 12, 2013, subsequently destroyed the remaining structures of the pier and nearby businesses. While there have been ongoing discussions and proposals for rebuilding, the amusement pier has not been re-established at the site, which has since operated as a private beach known as Funtown Beach.
