Game Galaxy: Hickory Hollow Mall

Game Galaxy, located at 5252 Hickory Hollow Parkway within the Hickory Hollow Mall in Antioch, Tennessee, served as a prominent entertainment destination for the local community. The space it occupied had a long history as an arcade, first known as “The Gold Mine” and then “Tilt,” before becoming Game Galaxy around or before November 2008. The arcade offered a diverse selection of approximately 70 games, including 30 classic titles and 40 modern ones, focusing exclusively on traditional gaming rather than redemption prizes. It was particularly known for its console gaming section, which hosted regular fighting game tournaments, alongside a variety of pinball machines and popular arcade titles like Tekken 6, Dance Dance Revolution Extreme, Mortal Kombat II, Donkey Kong Junior, and Ms. Pac-Man.

As the broader Hickory Hollow Mall experienced a period of decline and redevelopment, Game Galaxy maintained its vibrant presence. It closed its doors at this location on June 24, 2012, concluding a continuous tradition of arcade entertainment that had spanned over three decades within the mall. The venue then relocated to a nearby strip mall in Antioch before eventually moving to Smyrna, continuing its legacy of providing a robust selection of classic and modern games to arcade enthusiasts in the greater Nashville area.
