My Parents’ Basement

My Parents’ Basement, located in Avondale Estates, Georgia, has been a distinctive hybrid entertainment venue since its official opening on August 12, 2015. Conceived by friends Dave DeFeo, Tim Ensor, and Lawson Wright, who had backgrounds in the restaurant industry, the establishment began as a series of pop-up shops before settling into its permanent brick-and-mortar location. It functions as a full-service craft beer bar and restaurant, a comprehensive comic book store offering new issues, trade paperbacks, and rarities, and an arcade featuring a rotating selection of free vintage video games and over twenty pinball machines.

This unique combination of interests has cemented My Parents’ Basement as a significant recreational and social hub within the Atlanta metropolitan area, particularly for comic book enthusiasts and gaming communities. It provides a welcoming atmosphere for patrons to enjoy a curated selection of food and beverages, engage in pinball tournaments, and explore comic book culture, fostering a sense of camaraderie and offering an alternative to traditional nightlife experiences.
