Operating within the expansive Extreme Ice Center in Indian Trail, North Carolina, the Retro Arcade has offered a supplementary entertainment experience since the center’s opening in 2006. The Extreme Ice Center, an 87,000-square-foot facility, was designed to be a comprehensive hub for ice sports and recreation, featuring two NHL-regulation ice rinks and a smaller practice rink. The inclusion of an arcade and game room was part of the original design, providing diverse activities for visitors beyond skating.
The Retro Arcade provides a range of games, including classic arcade titles, driving games, fighting games, shooting games, and air hockey, often available on freeplay for events. Situated alongside other amenities like a pro shop, snack bar, and the Center Ice Tavern, the arcade contributes to the Extreme Ice Center’s role as a significant community institution in the Matthews and Indian Trail area. It continues to function as a family-friendly destination, offering varied entertainment options for local residents and visitors engaged in the center’s extensive ice sports programs.
