The building at 101 Broadway in Nashville, Tennessee, originally constructed in 1890 by J.R. Whitemore, first housed a grocery store before becoming the location of Acme Feed & Hatchery in 1943. Renamed Acme Farm Supply in 1965, this agricultural store served as a vital community hub for 56 years, offering farm necessities and hosting memorable local events such as “Purina Jamborees” and free “dog dipping” Saturdays. The feed store ultimately closed its doors in 1999, leaving the historic structure largely vacant for over a decade.
In 2014, the building was revitalized and reopened as Acme Feed & Seed, transforming into a four-story entertainment and culinary destination on Lower Broadway. Today, its first floor operates as a “Funky Tonk” with diverse live music, a farm store, and Acme Radio Live. The second floor features a lounge offering vintage games like shuffleboard, arcade video games, and foosball, complemented by a sushi bar and country music artifacts. The third floor, known as “The Hatchery,” functions as a private event space, while the rooftop bar provides panoramic views and hosts a variety of events, having been repeatedly voted the “Best Rooftop Bar” by the Nashville Scene. Acme Feed & Seed strives to honor and preserve Nashville’s distinct cultural and musical heritage, serving as a venue that embraces both locals and visitors.
