Billy Bob’s Wonderland

Billy Bob’s Wonderland, a long-standing family entertainment center in Barboursville, West Virginia, originated in 1986 as a ShowBiz Pizza Place. In 1989, it transitioned to an independent venue, adopting the name Billy Bob’s Wonderland, a strategic move that preserved its notable Rock-afire Explosion animatronic band from a corporate rebranding initiative. This decision cemented the animatronic show as a central and rare public exhibition in the United States. Initially operating from several regional locations, including sites in East Barboursville, Charleston, WV, and Ashland, KY, Billy Bob’s Wonderland consolidated its operations into a single, larger facility at 5 Cracker Barrel Drive in 2003, where it continues to serve the community today.

The Barboursville location offers a variety of attractions, including a diverse array of arcade games, a mini-golf course, and the enduring animatronic performances by the Rock-afire Explosion band. While laser tag was once featured, that space has since been repurposed for bouncy houses catering to younger children. The venue also hosts birthday parties and special events like Billy Con, fostering a blend of nostalgic and modern family entertainment for the Barboursville area. Owned by Fun City Arcade since 2023, Billy Bob’s Wonderland remains a significant recreational hub, drawing visitors who seek its unique amusements and the enduring charm of its classic animatronic show.
