Fountain Square Brewery

Fountain Square Brew Co., located at 1301 Barth Avenue in Indianapolis, Indiana, originally opened its doors on January 21, 2012, quickly becoming a significant presence in the local craft brewing scene. Housed in a former carburetor-repair shop, the brewery established itself as one of Indianapolis’s oldest microbreweries, known for its distinctive craft beers such as Workingman’s Pilsner and Preacher’s Daughter Amber Ale. Beyond its brewing, the venue cultivates a welcoming atmosphere, featuring pinball machines and board games for casual play, alongside a vibrant schedule of open mic comedy, karaoke, and live music, fostering a community hub for local artists and patrons alike.

Throughout its history, Fountain Square Brew Co. has experienced several ownership changes. In late 2022, the brewery faced potential liquidation, temporarily closing after New Year’s Eve. However, head brewer Beppe Cuello and his wife, Dama Cuello, alongside investors, acquired the business in January 2023, preventing its permanent closure and allowing it to reopen in March 2023. This resurgence revitalized the brewery’s commitment to its original recipes and its role as a vital gathering place for the Fountain Square neighborhood, continuing its legacy as a cherished local institution.
