Maidens Brewery

Maidens Brewery, located at 209 North Wabash Avenue of Flags in Evansville, Indiana, commenced operations as Maidens Brewery & Pub in March 2018, with its house-brewed beers becoming available to the public in June of that year. Founded by John Mills, the establishment quickly garnered attention for its diverse selection of craft beers, frequently named after women, and a comprehensive menu of pub fare that included unique items like Scotch eggs. The brewery contributed notably to the evolving craft beer scene in Evansville, attracting patrons from the immediate area and surrounding regions, and actively engaged with the local community through participation in events such as the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival.

In late November 2019, Maidens Brewery underwent a rebranding, transitioning its identity to Damsel Brew Pub. This change was necessitated by a trademark dispute with the musical group Iron Maiden, whose established branding and stylized font were deemed too similar to the brewery’s original presentation. The establishment at the same address continues to operate as Damsel Brew Pub, maintaining its focus on handcrafted beers, a full food menu, and cultivating a family-friendly atmosphere within the Evansville community.
