Operating in Port Richey, Florida, since 1983, Stop N Play has served as a prominent family entertainment center for the local community. The venue originally began its life as a satellite expansion of Funspot, the legendary New Hampshire amusement park officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the “Largest Arcade in the World”. During its peak expansion era, Funspot opened several satellite locations across New England and one outlier location in Port Richey, Florida.
By the mid-1990s, changing economic landscapes caused Funspot to systematically close its satellite locations one by one. The Port Richey, Florida branch holds the historic distinction of being the very last Funspot satellite location to close. Following its closure by corporate, the location was kept alive and transformed into Stop N Play.
Stop N Play offers a diverse range of attractions for all ages, including a 9-hole indoor miniature golf course, a free kids’ play area with kiddie rides, and a full-service snack bar. The center features over 100 games, encompassing classic video arcade games, pinball machines, Skeeball, Air Hockey, and popular titles such as Dance Dance Revolution, Jurassic Park, and Deal or No Deal, alongside various redemption games. Beyond its daily offerings, Stop N Play is a hub for community engagement, hosting birthday parties, group events, and fundraisers, and encouraging academic achievement through its “Tokens for Good Grades” program. It remains the largest family fun center in Pasco County, providing a continuous recreational outlet.
